DIY Bead Jewelry

Learning to bead jewelry gives you the creative outlet to design bracelets, necklaces, charms and accessories to your specifications. Create jewelry exactly the shape, length and design you want, so your accessories always match your outfits. Beaded jewelry also makes one-of-a-kind gifts for holidays and birthdays.

Instructions

    1

Decide how long you want the necklace to be. This is a matter of personal preference. Cut the ribbon to that length. The average necklace is about 20 inches.

    2

String the charm onto the ribbon and slide it to the center of the ribbon.

    3

String three beads on either side of the charm. Slide them so they're evenly spaced between the charm and the end of the ribbon.

    4

Place the end of the ribbon into a cord tip and squeeze the cord tip closed with the needle nose pliers, smashing the ribbon end inside the cord tip. Install a cord tip on both ends of the ribbon.

    5

Slide a jump ring through the hole at the top the cord tip, and through one of the two pieces of the clasp ends. Squeeze the jump ring closed with needle nose pliers.

    6

Slide another jump ring through the hole on the other cord tip and through the second piece of the clasp end. Close the jump ring with the needle nose pliers.
