"Hearts on Fire" is a style of round-cut diamond developed in 1919 by Marcel Tolkowsky. It earned its name from the eight tiny hearts visible through the pavilion of a hearts on fire stone. Hearts on Fire diamonds are available only through the company of the same name.
Selection
Hearts on Fire diamonds are cut only from rough stones that are naturally knot free. This means that less than 1 percent of the world's mined diamonds are selected to be cut into a Hearts on Fire diamond.
Certification
Each diamond purchased from the Hearts on Fire company comes with a certificate of authenticity, is laser inscribed with its own serial number for identification and is registered with the American Gem Society.
Creation
The Hearts on Fire style of round cut is so complex that only 400 craftsmen worldwide are qualified to cut one.
Cut
Hearts on Fire diamonds are crafted at 100x magnification, which is 10x greater than the magnification for standard diamond cutting.
Polish
Each Hearts on Fire diamond is polished with a mixture of diamond dust and olive oil to ensure that each stone has an adamantine shine---the highest grade in the industry.
Mining
All Hearts on Fire diamonds are mined from conflict-free zones.
