Silver is a very popular color for jewelry, but we all know how difficult it is to keep its lustrous appearance. For years, titanium has been the metal of choice for body jewelry. Its light weight, strength and corrosion-resistant properties make it a perfect metal for making other jewelry--necklaces, bracelets, earrings and anklets. Keep the shine in your jewelry by using titanium findings. These simple, yet elegant earrings are a great place to start.

Instructions

    1

Buy titanium ear wires, headpins and beads. Silver Gold Findings is a good place to go for titanium findings. You can find a link under the additional resources.

    2

Buy Swarovski beads. A great source for Swarovski beads at very reasonable prices is iBead. Find a link under the additional resources.

    3

Buy round nose pliers, a must-have for looping and shaping wire. Although there are minipliers available, for comfort while making your jewelry, use ergonomic 4.25-inch to 5-inch pliers found at places like Silversupplies.com. There is a link under additional resources.

    4

Slide one 3 mm titanium bead, followed by one 6 mm fire opal Swarovski bicone bead and one more 3 mm titanium bead on 1.25-inch titanium headpin.

    5

Place pliers half an inch from the top of the headpin and twist the headpin until it forms a hook.

    6

Repeat steps 4 and 5 three more times.

    7

Slide one 6 mm black diamond Swarovski bicone bead, followed by one 3 mm titanium bead and one more black diamond bicone bead on 1.50-inch headpin.

    8

Bend headpin just as you did in Step 5.

    9

Repeat steps 7 and 8 one more time. Hook one fire opal headpin on the ear wire.

    10

Place pliers at the tip of the headpin and twist until you form a small circle that touches the top of the hook.

    11

Hook one black diamond headpin on the ear wire and repeat Step 10. Hook another fire opal headpin on the ear wire and repeat Step 10.
