As tastes change, jewelery that was once worn daily sometimes gets stowed away. This jewelery can be sold and some money made instead of letting it take up space in a drawer. In Connecticut. there are many ways to sell your unwanted 14 karat jewelery.

Instructions

Selling Your Unwanted 14 Karat Jewelery

    1

Collect the jewelery you want to sell. Make sure that it is 14 karat gold and are pieces that you can part with. If possible, seperate any gem stones from it if you want to sell them separately.

    2

Look up pawn shops, consignment shops and jewelers in the area of Connecticut where you are. Pawn shops will purchase jewelery but sometimes require a proof that you owned it. Have it appraised prior to selling it or pawning it so that you are sure of the price range you should be getting. A consignment shop that specializes in estate sales and jewelery will likely be interested in older pieces of 14 karat gold.

    3

After appraising your 14 karat jewelery, place an ad in the local Connecticut paper where you are. With the appraised price, put in its condition and a fair price for it.

    4

Do an Internet search for purchasers of jewelery. There are places that will buy it after you send it in to them. Often, the price they offer is a lot less than what you could get selling it privately. A private sale, paper ad or consignment shop will still get you more money, though it may take you more time. Be prepared to negotiate price. Haggling" may make the sale quicker for you.
