How to Adjust a Timex Wristband

Timex wristbands provide the option of sizing or adjusting the band to customize fit. Adjustments may be necessary due to the season or weight changes. A loose, ill-fitting watch band will feel uncomfortable while doing everyday activities or physical exercise. Removing and adding links lengthen or shorten the band without the expense of a professional jeweler.

Instructions

Foldover Clasp Bracelet

    1

Locate the section where the spring bar connects the band with the clasp.

    2

Push in the spring bar with a pointed tool such as a small screwdriver or pen point. Twist the band to disengage.

    3

Reinsert the spring bar into the correct bottom hole. Push down the spring bar to reinsert the top.

Removable Links

    4

Lay the band on its side and slide a pointed tool or small screwdriver into the opening of the link.

    5

Push the tool forcefully toward the arrow and detach the link. Repeat to remove as many links as necessary.

    6

Join the two separated bracelet parts by pushing the pin back into the link. This time do it in the opposite direction of the arrow.

Solid Link Bands

    7

Lay the band on its side and remove the screws on the link.

    8

Repeat to remove as many links as necessary for a comfortable fit. Avoid removing the links adjacent to the clasp.

    9

Reconnect the two separated band parts by replacing the screws. Turn the screws until tight and flush with the band.
