How to Structure a Charm Bracelet

Charm bracelets are a unique way to commemorate events in life. The options for structuring a charm bracelet are endless -- silver or gold, simple clasp or claw clasp, single loop or double. However, the main thing to remember is that the charm bracelet is a celebration of life and should reflect the owner's natural lifestyle.

Instructions

    1

Secure each charm to the bracelet with jump rings. For daily wear, ask a jeweler to solder the jump rings closed for added security. Claw clasps require more force to be opened, so they are a good option for daily use.

    2

Arrange charms in a chronological order to help jog memories of a particular time period. Or arrange charms by type -- personal, family, hobbies, vacation and so on.

    3

Choose charms to go with events that happen throughout life. Childhood, birthdays, milestone events and marriage are good starting points. Add in charms collected on vacations and at special occasions for a rounded out feeling.

    4

Alternate solid metal charms with those adorned with stones. For example, place a charm with a stone, then two solid gold charms, followed by another one with stones. The patterns are endless when you consider how many charms are available.
