How to Bling Out Earrings

Blinging out your earrings -- meaning adding sparkle and flash -- can be an enjoyable do it yourself project. Not only is decorating your own jewelry entertaining, it serves as a creative outlet for anyone who has a knack for fashion and design. Finding the right jewelry in stores for your own personal style can be challenging and expensive; making your own blinged-out earrings allows you to express your own style and also show off your talent for design.

Instructions

    1

Make your own budget-conscious blinged-out earrings by adding rhinestones to your jewelry. Do this with a hot glue gun or superglue. This allows you to place as many or as few of the rhinestones you want onto your earrings without the high price of diamond earrings.

    2

Add gold-colored stones onto your earrings if the clear rhinestone look isn't your style. Gold tones are just as much bling as the rhinestones and can also mix well with colorful fake gemstones such as amethyst, garnet, sapphire and amber. Look for imitation versions of these gemstones at a creative goods store and apply them with the glue.

    3

Use sparkly beads that can be threaded through your earring base. In order to do this, you will need a make-your-own earring kit (found at local arts and crafts stores) with headpins for the beads to sit on. This is another way to create blinged-out jewelry that you can design all by yourself.

    4

Build your own diamond blinged-out earrings by going to a jewelry store and designing your own to meet your exact specifications. If money is no object, diamonds are irreplaceable -- ultimate bling. This way, you are designing your own blinged-out earrings without having to actually put any manual labor into the process yourself.
