Anklets are popular jewelry, especially for summer-wear with sandals or bare feet on the beach. They are made in every material, from metal to hemp to plastic. The most popular varieties are silver or gold metal with a clasp. Often, these come with several little charms that you can attach to the bracelet to give it a personal feel. However, charms are also sold separately and made to be taken on or off your anklet, depending on your mood. They come in thousands of shapes, sizes, colors and themes. All you have to do is choose which ones you like best.

Instructions

    1

Choose your favorite metallic finish. Most bracelets come in a choice of silver or gold. Choose the tone that matches the jewelry you usually wear or the one that will best complement your sandals or summer style.

    2

Choose between a traditional and Italian anklet. The traditional anklet is made of small, open chain links to hold the charms. Italian anklets look a little like watch bands with solid, rectangular links. Italian charms are also rectangular.

    3

Consult the References section to choose your charms. Look through the themed sections and decide how many charms you want, if you want them to follow a theme or if you just want charms that mean something personal to you.

    4

Attach your charms to the anklet. Traditional charms will have either a metal loop similar to a tiny key ring or a claw-clasp attached to the charm. Separate the key ring or open the clasp and slide each charm onto its own link.

    5

Attach Italian charms to your anklet. These rectangular charms are curved at either end, toward the back. Hook one curved end around the edge of a link in the anklet. Gently press down on the other side of the charm until it clicks into place. Either type of charm can be removed, replaced or re-ordered depending on your mood.
