Making clip-on earrings from pierced earrings is an easy craft. It takes about 20 minutes once you've gathered all your supplies. If you don't have pierced ears, don't let that stop you from buying pierced earrings. In a few simple steps, you can make them into clip-ons and wear them the same day.

Instructions

Post-Back Earrings

    1

Choose a converter for post-back earrings. These converters look like an average clip on, but there is a tube in the back.

    2

Remove the back from the earring post.

    3

Slide the post into the tube on the back of the converter starting from the bottom. If you insert the post into the top hole, you won't be able to bend it properly.

    4

Bend the front of the pierced earring gently toward the front of the clip on. This can usually be done without tools.

    5

Use needle-nose pliers, if necessary, to bend the post all the way to the front.

Hoop Earrings

    6

Use a clip-on hoop earring or hoop converter that is small enough to fit the charm from your dangle pierced earrings.

    7

If the pierced earring charm slides off, remove it.

    8

Slide the charm onto the clip on hoop.

    9

If the pierced earring charm does not slide off, use the wire snips to cut the pierced back off the earring.

    10

Slide the remaining loop onto the hoop earrings or attach a jump ring, then slide it onto the hoop clip on.
