How do I Put in a Nose Ring Screw?

When you first get your nose pierced, you'll probably be excited about your daring new look. After your piercing site has healed thoroughly, you can purchase a plethora of decorative nose rings in a variety of styles to change up your look. When you choose a nose ring with a bent post, known as a nose screw, you may experience a challenge inserting it correctly the first time.

Instructions

    1

Wash your hands thoroughly with hot water and soap, dry them and clean the site of your piercing with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide and a cotton ball.

    2

Clean your nose screw with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide before insertion to avoid introducing germs into the site.

    3

Position yourself in front of a mirror in a location with good lighting so you can see what you are doing.

    4

Use the thumb and forefinger of your non-dominant hand to gently pull the edge of your nostril out a bit to stretch the piercing hole.

    5

Hold the nose screw in your dominant hand and gently insert the pointed part of the nose screw into the piercing hole.

    6

Use a slight screwing motion that follows the natural curve of the nose screw until your nose screw is firmly in position. The decorative portion should rest naturally in the hole on the outside of your nostril, and the curved portion of the nose screw will rest naturally against your inner nostril.
