How to Put the Ball Back in a Belly Ring

Once the mark of the outsider and relegated to various subcultures, body piercing has become quite common. One piercing in particular, the belly ring, has proved popular among a wide variety of people, especially women. Belly rings sometimes utilize captive bead rings, designed to stay in place even with significant stress, but also designed for easy removal. If you wish to put the ball back in a captive bead belly ring, you can do so with some special tools and the right technique.

Instructions

    1

Rub your hands completely with hand sanitizer.

    2

Wipe the captive bead belly ring, piercing area and tips of the ring closing pliers and ring opening pliers with alcohol prep swabs.

    3

Place the ring in the jaws of the ring closing pliers and compress the ring so its opening becomes slightly smaller than the captive bead.

    4

Insert one end of the ring into the navel piercing and slide it through so you can easily access the opening in the ring.

    5

Insert ring opening pliers into the center of the ring and expand the ring so its opening temporarily becomes slightly larger than the bead.

    6

Insert the bead into the ring opening so the indentations on either side of the bead line up with the tips of the ring's open ends.

    7

Release the ring opening pliers so the ring closes on the captive bead.

    8

Wipe the ring and the entire piercing area with alcohol prep swabs.
