How to Weave String-Rings

String-Rings are a ring with a colored piece of string woven through holes in the ring with a groove in the center. The color of the string symbolizes different things. Red strings symbolize love, gold string symbolizes giving and black string symbolizes enjoyment. String-Rings are worn as a reminder to be kind to one another. The idea is to look at the ring and remember what the color stands for and project that idea in daily life. Learn how to weave string into the ring to change colors and meaning based on your mood.

Instructions

    1

Choose a color of string for your ring. The ring comes with a weaving and color guide for the string and 2 sets of 10 colors of string. You will receive the ring with a basic weave style already in place.

    2

Cut the string already in the ring and remove it, if you want to change colors. You can try to untie the knot under the upper part, but that may be too challenging.

    3

Thread the string through hole 1 at the top of the ring on the outer part. Run the string through the groove down then center, then come up through hole 2 and back out through hole 3. Holes 2 and 3 are side by side in the bottom, middle of the ring.

    4

Run the string along the groove in the middle of the ring until you reach the final hole -- 4. Thread the string through the hole. You should have two ends of string under the top part of the ring. Tie a knot underneath the ring and cut off the extra string.

    5

Leave the string ends long, bring them up through the middle of the top of the ring and tie a bow for the bow style.

    6

Thread small beads on the bow ends and tie a knot at the end to secure the beads, for the beaded style.
