In recent years, stretching piercings has become a trendy form of body modification. During this process, a person goes through a series of different sized tapers, each gradually stretching the size of a piercing. Since buying new tapers gets expensive, body modifiers have found creative ways to stretch piercings cheaply. One such way is by using Teflon tape. This strong tape adds thickness to a taper you already have so it gently stretches out a piercing.
Instructions
- 1
Make sure your piercings have healed from the previous stretching. You should wait double the length of time it took for your piercings to heal before stretching. If it took a month for your piercings to heal from your last stretching, wait another two months before attempting to stretch them again.
2Take out your current tapers and clean them. Use a surgical scrub to clean your tapers. You can get this from a piercer or from a medical supply store. Rinse the soap from the taper and dry it off with a paper towel.
3Hold the ends of the taper and wrap one layer of Teflon tape around the barrel of it. Flatten any wrinkles or air bubbles out with your fingers. Trim any extra tape hanging off the sides.
4Place the taper back in your piercing. Carefully slide it back into the hole to avoid ripping the skin.
5Add another layer of tape every few days. Since you're not stretching the piercing too much by adding tape, you can stretch your piercings more often than you would if you bought new tapers a size up.
