One of the easiest and cost effective ways to punch up any outfit is with interesting jewelry. Here is how to score some beautiful pieces for less!

First, get an idea of what you are looking for. For me, I am inspired by what I see on the red carpet or magazines. I usually look on websites such as InStyle to see what are the hottest new looks. The bib necklace you see above was purchased at DOTS. I had been looking for a bib necklace for a long time, but did not want to pay alot!
2In my experience, necklaces are usually the best bet when buying costume jewelry at low prices. There is usually better workmanship in the necklaces then the earrings or bracelets that are low priced.
3Once you know what you want, scout out cool jewelry at junior stores like Forever 21, H and M, Dots and Charlotte Russe. Although, junior stores are usually off limits for women in the clothing area (I sometimes break that rule!) these stores carry both trendy and classic pieces at low prices to cater to their younger customers. Many of the same styles that you will see in high end stores can be seen here for a lot less. They also tend to replicate celeb inspired looks like the leaf necklace Jennifer Aniston made so popular. Surprisingly, the jewelry at these junior stores are pretty well made and very current.
Other great places for jewelry are major department stores such as Kohl's and JCP. At these stores I usually look at the clearance or sales racks to find the best deals.
Another way to find amazing jewelry is at vintage or consignment shops. Not only are the pieces one of a kind, they have a history to them!
