These conditions simulate the natural conditions under which diamonds form. Other options include vaporizing carbon atoms and creating an environment that allows them to form a diamond structure.

What Are Artificial Diamonds Used for?

Artificial gemstones can be used for several purposes. They are frequently used in electronics, as conductive diamonds are a useful electrode. Diamonds are also useful as drill bits and other cutting tools, especially for cutting alloys without iron. Finally, many companies make artificial diamonds as gemstones. These are constructed using high-pressure, high-temperature processes and are in many ways similar to naturally occurring diamonds. These diamonds can be made with or without color. While these stones cost less in comparison with naturally occurring diamonds, they are very similar in all characteristics.
