Italian charm bracelets were initially created for soccer players to display their nation's flag during games. In the late 1980s, these bracelets became available to the average shopper in Italy. A few years later, they found their way to the United States. Italian charm watches, combine a watch face with a bracelet that has removable modules to insert charms. The nice thing about these watches is that you can personalize them by adding your favorite charms.

    Buy an Italian charm bracelet watch at a jewelry store or online. Bracelet watches range in size from the smallest size with 16 links to the largest size with 21 links. Unlike a standard watch, the links of an Italian charm watch are removable, allowing you to insert charms. Find online retailers by typing "Italian charm bracelets" into your favorite search engine.

    Buy your charms online for best results. Buy the same number of charms as there are links on your watch, if you want to fill it completely with charms. Be sure to buy the right size and type of charm, based on the type of watch that you have. Links should be standard size unless your watch is marked "small" or "large".

    Add your charms to the bracelet. Remove the plain silver link from the watch band and replace it with the charm link. Each link has a connecting and receiving end. The connecting end is on the left side of the charm. Place the charm between your thumb and pointer figure. Press down on the charm and slide the connecting end forward onto the receiving end of the next charm. Continue until you have replace all the plain links with charms.
