How to Buy a Diamond Tennis Bracelet

Tennis bracelets got their name when tennis legend Chris Evert lost her diamond bracelet during the 1987 US Open and stopped the match to look for it.

If you're in the market for one of these beautiful bracelets, consider several factors before purchasing.

Metal

Tennis bracelets are made in various metals, including sterling silver, platinum and 10K and 14K yellow or white gold. Decide which metal you prefer. Tennis bracelets in sterling silver will usually be the least expensive.

Carats and diamond quality

Choose a bracelet with the desired weight. Diamonds are measured in carats and tennis bracelets come in various sizes. Also, look at the quality of the diamonds. Be sure to view the bracelet in different light conditions.

Setting

Tennis bracelets come in different settings. S-link frames each diamond with an "S" separating each diamond and bezel is usually a circular setting of metal framing the diamond. Other styles are also available. Decide which look you prefer by trying on several bracelets with different settings.

Measure your wrist

Measure your wrist to be sure that the bracelet you choose fits you perfectly. Most diamond tennis bracelets are seven to eight inches in length. Be sure the bracelet is not too tight or too loose.
