Lemon quartz is crystal of the quartz family that has a distinct yellow tint. This crystal is found mainly in Brazil, but has been found in Africa,Asia and North America. Lemon quartz is used to make a variety of precious stone jewelry, and requires the same amount of care you give your other prized jewelry pieces. Since this type of stone has a hardness level of 7 on the Mohs Hardness Scale, it's pretty durable, but you still need to be cautious because it can still break with a hard enough blow.
Instructions
- 1
Do not bump, smash or hit your lemon quartz against any surface. If the stone does not receive damage, most likely the surface will.
2Clean the lemon quartz with warm water and a soft cloth. Air dry by hanging the jewelry pieces on a jewelry stand.
3Store lemon quartz in a jewelry box or display case when you're not wearing the piece. This will keep kinks out of the chains and scratches off of the lemon quartz.
4Store lemon quartz in a dark area. Some varieties of lemon quartz will discolor or fade when placed in direct sunlight for extended periods of time, so protect your lemon quartz by keeping it out of the sun as much as possible.
5Put your lemon quartz jewelry on last when getting ready, and take it off as soon as you get home. This will lessen the chances of the piece becoming damaged through wear and tear.
