How to Display Cameos

While cameos are well-known as a fashion accessory from Queen Victoria's reign of England, the history of this art form goes back in time to 300 years before the birth of Jesus. In ancient Egypt, cameos were used to make statements about people's faiths among other things. The most popular form of cameos depict a carving of a person or object placed onto an oval pin. If you have a collection of cameos, put them on display to showcase their beauty.

Instructions

    1

Hang your collection of cameos on the wall by displaying them in a shadow box. These framed boxes hang on the wall like a picture frame but provide a way to display three-dimensional objects. Select a shadow box with a foam backing. Stick the pins into place, lining them up next to each other. Close the shadow box and mount to the wall.

    2

Use a decorative piece of cloth to display the cameos. Attach the cloth to a wooden dowel to form a wall scroll. Tie a ribbon or rope to each side of the dowel and hang it from a nail on the wall. Pin the cameos in a pattern of your choice throughout the cloth.

    3

Purchase an object made from craft foam such as a wreath or cone form. Cover the form in a decorative fabric and stick the cameos into place. Set the cone form on a dresser. Hang the wreath on a well-lit wall.

    4

Create a shelf display for your cameo collection. Clear a space on your a and set objects like seashells or polished stones in place, stacked on top of one another. Arrange the cameos throughout the objects.

    5

Incorporate your cameo collection into a household object for display. Use the cameos to create a border around a lampshade. Arrange several in the centers of decorative pillows with glue for embellishment.
