Select your beads. Choose beads of certain colors that will be able to go with a specific outfit or use neutral beads such as all black or all white, so that you can make one pair of homemade earrings to go with multiple outfits.

Put the beads on the head pin. Decide in what order you what the beads for he earrings and slip them on the pin. Make sure that your head pin is at least 1-inch long and increase the length depending on how many beads you want for your earrings.

Use your tools. Point the flat end of the pin down and hold the needle-nosed pliers as close to the beads as possible. From this position, bend the pin so that it forms a small loop at the top of the head pin.

Create some room in your loop. Using the needle-nosed pliers again, slightly turn the loop sideways to allow the ear hook to slip on.

Put the ear hook on the loop and use the pliers to close the opening in the loop.
