Purchasing a watch that is the correct size is difficult if you do not try it on. Certain situations, like purchasing the watch online or receiving the watch as a gift, prohibit you from this opportunity. If you receive a watch that is too large, you can have it adjusted. Fossil watches are so easy to adjust that you can make the size adjustment yourself. Jewelry stores and all purpose retail stores, both online and physical locations, often sell watch repair tool kits so you can safely adjust your watch.
Instructions
Bracelet
- 1
Unscrew the screw/pin from the buckle using a small screwdriver from your watch repair tool kit, and push it out from the opposite side. This will separate the buckle from the bracelet.
2Take out the metal retainer. The metal retainer was previously held in place by the screw/pin.
3Remove links and metal sleeves until the bracelet is the appropriate length for your wrist. A screw/pin holds each link in place, inside the metal sleeve.
4Reattach the buckle, replacing the metal retainer and screw/pin.
Strap
- 5
Open the outer buckle of the watch.
6Turn the watch over in your hand so that you are viewing the inside of the watchband.
7Tug on the strap until the metal tongue opens.
8Pull the strap until you reach a hole that makes the watchband the appropriate length.
9Push the metal tongue inside the hole, securing the position of the strap.
