How to Authenticate a Harry Winston Ring

In 1932, a legacy was born. That legacy is called Harry Winston. You know Harry Winston as the jeweler to the rich and famous; the maker of diamonds so beautiful most cannot afford a piece. In addition to making jaw-dropping jewels for the wealthy, Winston is the owner of the Hope Diamond; the blue diamond weighing in at more than 45 carats once owned by legends such as Marie Antoinette and Louis XIV. Winston donated the Hope Diamond to the Smithsonian Institute in 1958, where its display attracts more than 7 million visitors on an annual basis. Harry Winston jewelry is so spectacular that there is only one way to authenticate it if you did not purchase it yourself from a Harry Winston boutique.

Instructions

    1

Make an appointment to visit a Harry Winston boutique; there are only nine in the United States. Of the nine locations in the U.S., two are in Las Vegas and the rest are located in Honolulu, Bal Harbour, Costa Mesa, New York, Beverly Hills, Dallas and Chicago. You can schedule an appointment online or by phoning your nearest boutique.

    2

Arrive at your Harry Winston appointment with your ring and the certificate Harry Winston issued with it when it was purchased. Every piece of jewelry purchased at Harry Winston comes with a certificate from the Gemological Institute of America.

    3

Provide the ring and the certificate to a Harry Winston employee. The employee will then have the ring and the certificate authenticated for you; you may have to leave your jewelry with the boutique for a few days before it is authenticated. The gemologists at Harry Winston will study the ring to ensure it is in fact a Harry Winston creation and will inform you of their conclusion.
