How to Calibrate a Gem Scale

Gem weights can dramatically affect the value of how much the gem is worth. When you are dealing with gems you need a high-precision scale to weigh the small items. Ensure the scale is properly calibrated before you use it. The weighing platform should be completely clear of debris when calibrating the scales, which is done by pressing a combination of buttons.

Instructions

    1

Turn the unit on with the "On/Off" button. Clear the scales of debris.

    2

Press the "Tare" button. The display should read "0."

    3

Press the "Light" button to scroll through the calibration options. Scroll to "Scale" to calibrate the scale reguarly and "Line" to perform a linear calibration and press the "Tare" button to confirm.

    4

Press "units" to choose the unit of calibration. Press "Tare" when the display reads "0." Place the correct calibration weight on the scale. The display will show the correct calibration weight value and the scales are calibrated.

    5

Press "Tare" when the display is showing "Line" for line calibration. The display will read "0." When the display reads "1/3" or "1/2" of the weight value, place the corresponding weight on the center of the scale platform. The full capacity of the weight value will be displayed. Place the corresponding weight on the platform. The device is calibrated when the display stops flashing.
