Making "kitsch" jewelry is all about creativity. Your ideas and imagination are the only bounds to creating really eccentric and original jewelry pieces. One idea is the bottle-cap earring. Collecting bottle caps from beer bottles, Pelligrino bottles, and any other bottles with caps is not only environmentally savvy, but makes awesome earrings.

Select and Lay Out

Bottlecap earrings can be as simple as attaching hooks through the bottle caps to adding snazzy jewelry stones along with them or decorating the caps. Once you've decided what you want to add, lay them out on the table and measure out the wire from a jewelry making kit. The wire should be long enough to be knotted behind the bottle cap, to hold all the other stones, and to tie to the earring hooks.

Putting the Earring Together

With a pair of jewelry pliers, poke a small hole into the top of the bottle cap if you want your earrings this way; if not, choose where you would like to poke the hole. Feed the wire through the hole and tie a knot at the end of the wire so that it does not fall through the hole. You may have to double-knot the wire. Add any stones or other jewelry you would like to the wire, and tie the wire to fish-hook earrings.

Quality Assurance

Make sure that your earrings hang correctly by hanging them from the edge of your pinky finger, or, if they are for you, putting them on!
