How to Change an Eyebrow Ring

Pierced eyebrows have become a relatively common sight. As with other facial piercings, the skin in the eyebrow area can be very sensitive. For this reason, it is not suggested that you change your piercing too often. This will irritate the area and possibly cause infection. Proper care should be taken to keep the area of a new eyebrow piercing clean and free from bacteria, as well. If you do find it necessary to change your eyebrow ring, here are a few simple steps to help you.

Instructions

    1

Before changing your eyebrow ring it is highly advisable that you wash your hands with hot water and an antibacterial soap to get rid of any germs that may be present. Germs and bacteria can cause the sensitive eyebrow area to become infected.

    2

Use a mirror that's hung in a room with good lighting. If you own a mirror with magnification options, all the better.

    3

Take a good look at your eyebrow ring, and you will notice that it has a ball at the end. This type of eyebrow ring is known as a captive bead ring, and removing it can take some getting used to. You will need to remove that bead from the ring to take out the piercing.

    4

Grab the ring with the fingers of one hand, and the bead with the fingers of the other. Most people will use their thumbs and pointer fingers.

    5

Twist the bead attached to the ring and give it a gentle tug to detach. The twisting motion will detach the ring from the bead. Next remove the ring from its hole.

    6

Replace the old eyebrow ring with a new one by reversing Step 6.
