A locket is often worn on a chain around the neck and hangs near the heart, which symbolizes the closeness of the loved one in the locket's picture to the wearer's heart. Lockets are also available on bracelets. Because of the small size of most lockets, you may need to crop the picture you want to use in the locket.

Instructions

    1

Open the photo editing program on your computer.

    2

Go to "Open" then "File." Locate the picture you wish to crop for your locket. The picture will open in your editing program. If you only have a hard copy of the photo, you will need to scan it to your computer, save it, then open it with the editing program.

    3

Measure the size of the picture opening in the locket. Only measure where the picture will show to avoid printing the picture too large and cutting off important features. Write down the measurements.

    4

Locate the "Crop" command in your editing software. You will usually find it under the "Edit" tab. Because you are working with a limited amount of space, crop out all of the picture that does not include the faces you want to display in your locket.

    5

Resize the picture to fit the measurements of your locket. You can usually find this command under the "Format" tab. Type in the measurements for your photo, but be sure you are working in the proper units. For example if you measured in inches, check to makes sure the measurements are set to inches and not millimeters.

    6

Save your results. For the clearest images, insert photo paper into your printer and press print.

    7

Cut out the photo using scissors. Insert the photo into your locket.
